PLATED SUMMER SERIES IS NOW ON

As we head into the heart of the season and the days get a little shorter, the city is squeezing out every bit of the summer sun. With weekends spent on junk boats, backyard barbeques, watersports and lazy beach days basking in the sun, the workweek can seem to stretch almost infinitely ahead. Kick the early week blues away with our PLATED Summer Series, featuring unbeatable menus crafted by all-star chefs available only on Mondays and Tuesdays.   

See off a summer of good eating by taking full advantage of the season’s best. Led by a new rotation of chefs flexing their creative muscles, the dinner series samples the bold and refreshing flavours of summer with early week menus spotlighting signature dishes and seasonal ingredients available at Magistracy Dining Room, Maison Libanaise and Osteria Marzia starting 31 July.

VOYAGE D’ÉTÉ À BEIRUT AT MAISON LIBANAISE, $368 PER GUEST 

Summer, the Lebanese way, is best spent with wine in hand, over long and leisurely meals shared with friends and family. Taking guests on a journey guided by the flavours of her home, Chef Teya Mikhael and her team present Voyage d’Éte à Beirut, an ode to sun kissed days that turn into balmy nights.

Expect a spread of mezze perfectly scooped up with warm, hearth-baked pita bread. Dig into the Hummus Beiruti, a flavourful mash of chickpea purée, tahini, tomatoes and a dash of lemon juice, or try the PLATED exclusive Labneh Moutabal with chargrilled eggplant balanced by yoghurt and tomato confit. After nibbling on a spread of starters, indulge in the Kibbeh Labanieh, a beef and bulgar meatball soaked in garlicky yoghurt, another PLATED exclusive.

A SPLENDID SUMMERTIME AT MAGISTRACY DINING ROOM, $988 PER GUEST 

For an evening replete with all the splendour of summer, spend the early weeknights basking in the grandeur of Magistracy Dining Room. Executive Chef Matthew Kirkley has curated a menu of specials and signature dishes that are certain to kick the week off right with A Splendid Summertime.

This season-exclusive menu is perfect for those looking to enjoy a relaxed, refined evening as they select from a choice of starters including the light and refreshing Magistracy Summer Salad, a crisp and light salad tossed with Japanese fruit tomatoes and blue cheese. At the heart of the menu, guests can select between two mains, the Roasted Salmon, tweaked to match the season, features Ora King Salmon with sorrel and green asparagus bathed in a cream sauce, while Dining Room signature Chicken & Mushroom Pie offers a hearty alternative. Both are served with a selection of side orders before the evening meal wraps with an indulgent Dark Chocolate Pudding. Perfect for first time guests, and a nostalgic taste of London’s summertime for regulars, this PLATED menu is only around until the end of September.

UNA NOTTE D’ESTATE SULLA COSTA AT OSTERIA MARZIA; $528 PER GUEST 

From leisurely days spent on the beach basking under colourful umbrellas to nights spent over meals filled with produce and daily catches, as the warm summer days settle in, the southern coast of Italy bursts to life. There is little that rivals the Italian’s love of summer, and Chef Luca Marinelli has prepared a curated menu that showcases the bounty of flavours from the coast with Una Notte d’Estate Sulla Costa.

Enjoy a light and refreshing menu that perfectly balances the heat and humidity of the city as you tuck into a selection of antipasti from the signature Sea Bass Prosecco with a thinly sliced Mediterranean sea bass crudo dressed in prosecco and a squeeze of Sorrento lemon to the newly added Fitto di Pesce, fried calamari and zucchini paired with Greek yoghurt. Showcasing Chef Luca’s love for pasta is the menu-exclusive Spaghetti alla Chitarra, with Italian baby squid and citrusy tomatoes before the star of the show hits the table: the catch of the day. This summer feast wraps up with a house-made Gelato to keep cool before heading back out into the city heat.
