Need some inspiration on how to drop a grand on GO? We asked some of our chefs what their ultimate staycation order would be:

Palash Mitra, New Punjab Club 

I like big flavour everything and the nuances of Argentinian grilling culture at Buenos Aires Polo Club are not to be missed. The restaurant offers a delectable platter of Iberian Cold Cuts, perfect for whetting my appetite for the main event, steak. General Pico Black Angus Bone-in Sirloin, to be exact, cooked to the perfect medium-rare so that it melts in your mouth. The Provoleta Mac ‘n’ Cheese is another favourite, combining Argentine tradition with classic steakhouse fare. Of course, no dinner from The Club is complete without a bottle of Malbec.

Braden Reardon, Carbone

I lived in New York City for a long time, and that meant a lot of excursions during my downtime to the outer boroughs. Astoria in Queens has a massive Greek population and is one of my favourite places to explore. That is why I would pick Artemis & Apollo for my staycation meal, to bring me back to that time in my life. Greek food is all about the sharing of small plates, so I would choose a bunch of mezze, like Hummus, Roasted Eggplant and Tzatziki Theodoros, then opt for the Greek Village Salad and a whole lot of Warm Pita. Then I would order my favourite Pork Souvlaki with a side of their wonderfully seasoned Herbed Fries. Like the Greeks would do, I would wash it all down with a bottle (or two) of wine, also available on the app, and brace for the impending food coma.

Josh Stumbaugh, Associazione Chianti

New Punjab Club can do no wrong in my eyes. For an appetiser, I would go with the Keema Pau. It is not only delicious, but fun to eat as well since you can craft your own perfect meat-to-bun ratio. Tandoori Gobhi is definitely going in my order basket. I am kind of a cauliflower aficionado, and this version is at the top of my list. For the main event, the Masalewali Chanp. This is one of the best lamb dishes I have ever had in my life, charred and seasoned in all the right ways.

Billy Otis, Taqueria Super Macho

My perfect staycation dinner would be from Carbone. This is the food from my all-American childhood but done at an elevated level. Best of all, Carbone is offering a Party for Two menu that includes all the classics: Caesar Alla ZZ, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, Mario’s Meatballs, and Chicken Parmesan. Order up a nice bottle of red to pair with the meal, turn on some Netflix and all will be well.

Jowett Yu, Ho Lee Fook

As a chef, I am on my feet all day every day, so my ultimate staycation would mean relaxation to the max. I would spend the $1,000 Black Sheep Restaurants credit on a couple of nice Barolos from Carbone’s wine selection on GO and happily pass out on the massive, fluffy bed. Yeah, GO sells wine too, so if you did not know, now you know!
