BLACK SHEEP MAKES HISTORY, SWEEPS GOLD AND SILVER CUPS IN HONG KONG’S DRAGON BOAT GRAND FINAL
Black Sheep’s Dragon Boat Team penned a new chapter in the history of the city’s signature sport at the Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships, seizing victory in the top two divisions of this UNESCO-recognised tradition. After edging out more than 200 rival teams, Black Sheep crossed the Gold Cup finish line first by a razor-thin one-tenth of a second, then climbed back into the boats and repeated the feat to win the Silver Cup just minutes later.
Captains ArChan Chan, executive chef of Ho Lee Fook; Gurpreet (Gopi) Brar of Prince and the Peacock, and Leon Ruelle, who looks after Black Sheep’s new openings, led the all-volunteer squad through six months of pre-dawn practices, with their hard work paying off in the dramatic finale.
“Hospitality is all about heart,” said captain ArChan. “Turns out that same heart can win championships — and create forever days.” Black Sheep will release a special documentary that followed the team through the season later this summer. SUMMER OF SPRITZ AT STAZIONE NOVELLA
This summer, Stazione Novella is teaming up with Aperol to whisk guests away to sunny Italy with Summer of Spritz. From 6 June to 6 September, the beloved neighbourhood wine bar will capture the essence of Italian summer, transforming into a vibrant spritz haven where la dolce vita comes alive in the heart of Hong Kong.
A local favourite for its buzzing atmosphere and unmistakable Italian charm, Stazione Novella is where stories unfold over clinking glasses and friends gather to toast to the season. This summer, step inside and be transported to an Italian piazza where afternoons stretch long, spritz flows freely and every moment is meant to be savoured.
Guests can enjoy the signature Aperol Spritz ($78 per glass) or share the joy with an Aperol Spritz Tree ($288 for four glasses), perfect for catching up with friends over vibrant, citrusy refreshment. Each drink is served with a selection of aperitivo, bringing a little slice of Italy to every table.
Throughout the season, expect spontaneous gatherings and community moments that echo the spirit of Italian social life. From Aperol-infused evenings to bouncy weekend affairs, there is always something happening. Guests can stayed tuned to the Stazione Novella website or Instagram for a calendar of events.
Adding a sweet touch to the experience, Messina joins the festivities with Maritozzi ($48) — pillowy Italian brioche buns filled with rotating gelato flavours powered by Messina, perfect for cooling off in the summer sun.

PRIDE MONTH AT BUTTER

NEW SUMMER DISHES AT OSTERIA MARZIA, NEW PUNJAB CLUB AND BELON
Embark on a coastal journey with Osteria Marzia‘s new summer menu. Each dish pays tribute to the sea, celebrating the beauty of unsung catches and cuts like iwashi Japanese sardines, red mullets, wild Mediterranean cod and Kokotxas. Chef Alessandro Munelli has transformed these underappreciated treasures into soulful dishes that honour the sea and the tradition of Southern Italy.

At BELON, Chef Mina Güçlüer introduces a refined summer menu that sings of elegance and finesse. Guests can expect lighter flavours that reflect the season’s best – delicate Fluke aged post-ikejime and cured in sake; Foie Gras paired with plum and pistachio; and Dover Sole slow-cooked in olive oil with green chartreuse and hazelnut sauce. These new dishes exemplify her French-rooted and Mediterranean-influenced cuisine with a warm, summery glow.
