JULY HAPPENINGS AT BLACK SHEEP

This July, Black Sheep marks the start of summer in Hong Kong with a rewarding new edition of Black Series, a milestone anniversary on Bridges Street and new menus complemented by a sweet collaboration with Adidas to help the city beat the heat.

JEAN-PIERRE TURNS ONE
Over the past year, Jean-Pierre has brought a little corner of Paris to Hong Kong. To mark its first anniversary, Jean-Pierre presents a limited-time menu, Hommage aux Bistrots de Paris, paying tribute to some of the French capital’s most cherished bistros and brasseries, from Brasserie Lipp and La Fontaine de Mars to Le Duc, Bistrot Paul Bert and Chez L’Ami Louis. Each dish celebrates a restaurant that has helped define Parisian dining, interpreted with the ingredients, techniques and spirit that guide Jean-Pierre’s kitchen today. In addition to the dishes, Le Bar at Jean-Pierre unveils a new cocktail the Hemingway Champagne, an absinthe and chilled Champagne homage to Ernest Hemingway’s “Death in the Afternoon”, both a cocktail and a book owing their origin to the beloved author; and as a final sweet touch, Cointreau-versial, a special anniversary Messina gelato flavour developed with Chef John Troupis mixes chocolate mousse, crème fraîche and a splash of French orange liqueur.

NEW SUMMER MENU AT NEW PUNJAB CLUB

This summer, New Punjab Club, the world’s first and only MICHELIN-starred Punjabi restaurant, presents a new a la carte menu that journeys deeper into its roots. While the tandoor ovens are still the beating heart of the kitchen and the flame-cooked proteins that they deliver remain the stars of the show, Chef Palash Mitra and Chef Chhabil Sidhu add seasonal sigri and deg dishes inspired by Lahore’s legendary “food streets” and rich Mughal heritage. Highlights include Machli, flame-grilled pearl perch served with balay paratha, Bihari Beef Boti, smoky beef skirt with eggplant and cumin chutney and Shinwari Karahi, Westholme oxtail with slow-cooked onions, plum tomatoes and green chillies.
