JORGE “JOY” ALVAREZ TOSTADO BRINGS TACOS 1986 TO BURGER CIRCUS AND LE PETIT SAIGON

For those who missed the chance to catch Tacos 1986 during their Hong Kong takeover of Taqueria Super Macho, Chef Jorge “Joy” Alvarez Tostado is leaving behind one final taste of his cooking with two limited time collaborations across the city.

At the heart of both creations is his house-made Salsa Macha, a smoky, nutty chilli condiment that has become a signature of Tacos 1986. More than a finishing sauce, it is something Jorge reaches for every day, spreading it on sandwiches, burgers and just about anything he eats. These collaborations celebrate that simple habit, bringing a little of Tacos 1986 into two familiar favourites.

At Le Petit Saigon, The 1986 Bánh Mì pairs carne asada with guacamole, pickled tomato, pickled onion, Vietnamese herbs and a generous spread of Salsa Macha Peanut, bringing together Mexican flavours and Vietnamese tradition in one sandwich.

At Burger Circus, The 1986 Burger layers a 6oz smashed beef patty with Wisconsin cheddar, tomato, coriander and Thousand Island dressing blended with Jorge’s signature Salsa Macha for a rich, smoky kick.

Available throughout August at Burger Circus & Le Petit Saigon | Walk-ins only
