Introducing All We Want For The Restrictions

With the time of festive cheer and days filled with holiday magic feeling like a distant memory, and all plans for a new, brighter year already tossed out the window, even the smallest of special moments can seem harder to come by. Disappointment and despair are the overwhelming emotions in the air, as we once find ourselves required to operate under restrictions, coming full circle to a time where moments of much-needed hospitality are limited to a thumbnail-sized window of opportunity. Now, more than ever, more than ever thought possible, there is a need for a hospitality connection. A need for the warmth of greetings as guests arrive and the orchestrated movements of the team, for the mellow glow of set dining rooms and the clinking of tableware against the hum of conversation.

So, in an effort to keep a sense of true hospitality alive, we have introduced All We Want For The Restrictions, a singular stop to combat lockdown despair with new menus, new initiatives and new experiences.

A FASHIONABLY EARLY SUPPER SERIES
More than just a time of day, dinner is when friends and family can connect over shared meals and glasses of wine, but there is no need to wait to experience all the romance and beauty found within the dim of the dining room. Bringing the charm and enchantment of dinner back to life from 3pm is A Fashionably Early Supper Series; a chance to reinvigorate late afternoon meals by turning down the lights, setting the music and executing service with all the ethos and poise you expect from us.

With curated offerings at each selected restaurant, exclusively available from 3-6pm, expect candlelit tables and the low thrum of music at Tuscan trattoria, Associazione Chianti, as our team pops open magnums of Super Tuscan and Chianti wines from well-known vineyards across Italy for exclusive pours by the glass, or the energetic atmosphere of Carbone, recalling nights of indulgence with exclusive bottles of reserve list wines, from rare Barolo’s and Burgundy’s that are sold nowhere else in the city, at never-seen-before prices.

Experience the shine and sparkle of shared meals enjoyed in the newly reopened Ho Lee Fook with daily limited-availability specials from the inspired work of Head Chef ArChan and the showstopping flair found both on and off the teppans, as guests are welcomed into Crown Super Deluxe’s opulent dining room with a highball on arrival before they take a front-row seat to the jaw-dropping feats of a skilled mentalist performing for the room (mentalist performances are Thursday – Saturday after 3pm).  We are transforming the 3pm dining experience at select restaurants into moments nostalgic for exquisite 7pm dinners, and as things wind down, before the proverbial clock strikes twelve on dine-in hours, everyone still with us will receive a nightcap or sweet to celebrate another successful day of true hospitality.

EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE RESTRICTIONS
If you are in need of a midweek escape from the office or simply looking to make the most out of the daylight hours on the weekends, we invite you for extended weekend brunches, limited time menus and afternoon specials – available exclusively through the restrictions.

For the first time in its new home, the pearl of SoHo, BELON, is opening its doors daily from 12pm, set to make any afternoon more exceptional with Chef Matthew Kirkley and team. Enjoy meticulously crafted dishes with a limited time Tasting Menu that pairs perfectly with a selection from the masterfully curated wine list for an afternoon of excellence. Head over to Wan Chai and bask in the afternoon glow of Osteria Marzia with a new three-course menu, Crudi e Vini, highlighting a selection of Southern Italian wines from the restaurants’ enviable cellar paired with light, refreshing crudos dreamt up by Chef Luca Marinelli. Or journey up the sun-kissed shores of Mexico and celebrate the slow-cooked Mexican masterpiece, beef birria, with a series of special dishes from Chef Billy Otis at Taqueria Super Macho’s weeklong fiesta, Celebración de Birria.

While restrictions suck the life out of early and late-night, especially on the weekends, All We Want For The Restrictions has something for everyone’s afternoon. Kick the weekend off early and head down to The Last Resort to make midday the fun time of day, with something new every day, from flip cup competitions on Thursdays to classic movie Sundays screening all-time cult favourites like Die Hard and Maximum Overdrive. Launching a round of upcoming chef collaborations, the dive bar team have teamed up with Head Chef Billy Otis of Taqueria Super Macho for a weekend of fried chicken tacos that wash down easily with a few ice-cold beers. Or spend your afternoons in regal fashion at the new Club Brunch at Buenos Aires Polo Club with an Argentian feast featuring brunch exclusives including the Gaucho Omelet and French Toast, paired with a timeless tipple: the martini. Enjoy a Herculean feast of Athenian taverna classics including signature mezze and succulent spit-roasted meats alongside generous pours of wine now available all weekend long with Artemis & Apollo’s Souvlaki Weekends.

NEW CULINARY MAGICIANS IN TOWN
The return of restrictions might make it feel like 2021 is back in full force, but if days are starting to feel a little gloomy, here is a reminder that things have moved on. All around our community there are new faces, new chefs and new talented team members doing what they love, day-in and day-out, to bring you the best hospitality in town. New chefs like Head Chefs Shun Shiroma (Fukuro), Teya Mekhael (Maison Libanaise) and Logan Hester (Chôm Chôm), are working to bring their culinary stories to life, introducing special off-menu exclusives and limited-time specials only found within the walls of the restaurants.

EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCES
It has become obvious that every little win deserves a celebration, especially when birthdays, engagements, weddings and even the simple respite of dining out continue to be scaled back, postponed, or cancelled. So, whether birthday or anniversary plans need a quick last-minute shuffle, or in need of an exceptional afternoon embark on an Extraordinary Experience including Picnics on the Peak at Rajasthan Rifles, Whiskey Masterclasses at Crown Super Deluxe or Martini Masterclasses at Buenos Aires Polo Club and build memories with unforgettable moments inspired by our stories. Staying in right now? Our Extraordinary Experiences can be gifted for when things return to their regular programming and redeemed at a future date.

As curators for the moments in life that matter, we have been creating world-class hospitality for everyone that walks into our world, transporting you with stories told through food and culinary adventure, taking you out of the here and now and immersing you in another time, another place. So, while the real magic of the dining room might be at night, unusual times call for unusual measures and all the wonder and romance can now be found from 12-6pm.
